Spectrum,
Ball State University's gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender
student (GLBT) organization, will sponsor a
series of events this week as part of its annual Spring
Week.
Events kick off today with the debut performance of "ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1,"
a solo musical written and performed by acclaimed solo
theatre artist
Jade Esteban Estrada.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Pittenger Student
Center, Cardinal Hall.
On Tuesday, a lecture on Legends in Gay History will take
place, beginning at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the
Studebaker West residence hall complex.
Wednesday's events include a silent lunch in the Atrium and
a "Breaking the Silence" march through campus that begins at
5:30 p.m. at Carmichael Hall and ends at 6 p.m. in Cardinal
Hall. Participants are encouraged to watch a Spectrum video
after the march.
Thursday's event is Out of the Past, a gay wax museum, that
begins at 7 p.m. in the Pittenger Student Center Ballroom.
A prom will be held on Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. in the
Student Center Ballroom, with the week's events ending
Saturday with the group's annual drag show to begin at 7:30
p.m. in Ball Gym.
All events are free and open to the public.
