Ennis P. Degollado, the “lactose intolerant, gay, vegetarian cowboy” played by Jade Esteban Estrada, has done First Friday and Halloween.
And, this weekend, he’ll make his Luminaria debut.
The exuberant character has starred in a series of “comedy documentaries” produced by Kimberly Suta for NiffNot, the production company she runs with Catherine Nored. In the films, Estrada-as-Ennis interviews people about their experiences then riffs a bit on some of their comments.
The original plan for Luminaria was to have the interviews beamed live during the event, but the budget didn’t allow for that. And so, instead, Ennis will rove about with a camera following him, capturing his interactions for editing later on.
“He’s very spontaneous, and it’s really funny, the reactions he gets from people,” Suta said.
