Jade Esteban Estrada is a playwright, speech writer and has been a contributing writer and photographer for the San Antonio Current since 2013.

From 2011-2013, Estrada was a senior correspondent/photographer for Plaza de Armas where he explored the world of Texas politics in his weekly column Glitter Political. His previous work has appeared in such publications as Trans Texas Monthly, QSanAntonio.com, Church Street Freedom Press, The Villager, San Diego Update, Off-Off Broadway Review and New York Cool. His review of the Chekhov NOW Festival was published in the book Chekhov: The Cherry Orchard - Plays in Production by James N. Loehlin (Cambridge University Press). His photography has been published in the San Antonio Current and the San Antonio Express-News.

In 2012, he served as a media panelist for the 9th Annual Center for Mexican American Studies Research Conference From Demography to Identity: Who We Are in America at Our Lady of the Lake University and the late Sherman Hemsley (George Jefferson of the 70s sitcom The Jeffersons), granted Estrada his final interview.

In addition to covering arts and entertainment, Estrada continues to write his Glitter Political column for the San Antonio Current and Out in SA, now in its fourth year.

He is a member of SAAHJ, the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists and is currently the playwright-in-residence at Prohibition Supperclub in Houston, Texas. Past credits include Magnolia City, a stage adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death and Tales of a Hard Nut.
