Before Jade Esteban Estrada began cultivating his adjuvant artistic disciplines, he was a singer first. After graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, he won the role of Flat Top in the 1993 production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning musical Starlight Express in Bochum, Germany. He worked as a scratch vocalist for the Back Street Boys before releasing his first album Angel (2001) and the next year lent his golden voice to the CD compilation Being Out Rocks (Centaur) with Sarah McLachlan, kd lang, Cyndi Lauper, Queen and The B-52s. His music has been featured on the Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning police drama The Shield (FX).

In 2002, Estrada broke into the world of solo theatre when he composed and performed his premiere solo musical comedy ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1 at the Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival.

In 2015, he sang in the hit shows Funny for a Grrrl and Blues, The People's TV Show and Burlesque: What the Funk at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, Burlesque Night #4 in Aachen, Germany and Burlesque a la Verve in Malta.

Currently, he sings every Saturday night in The Moonlight Show at Prohibition Supperclub in Houston, Texas.
